FACTORS MOTIVATING FEMALE STUDENTS FROM MASVINGO, ZIMBABWE - THE CHOICE OF TAKING NATURAL SCIENCES AT UNIVERSITY

Although there is a demand for the requirement natural sciences skills, to date, connection between subject choices and their impact on female students’ educational pathways has not been widely studied. Natural include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science Geography. In this paper we therefore investigate factors that motivate Zimbabwean students choose at university. The main body of data research was generated through semi-structured interviews. preliminary results reflect are three motivated in sample programmes: (1) self-efficacy, ability (2) influence teachers, relatives, parents friends (3) relevance sciences. Hence these promote constitution science identity, which turn motivates choice as career amongst students.
